Data about visitors
You can use Kolshi without an account. When you visit, our hosting providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use this data only to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems.
Searches
We process the words and filters you search for in order to show results. We may keep search terms without any link to your identity to improve search quality.
AI assistant
The assistant helps you search the listings on Kolshi. When you use it, your messages and the conversation so far are sent to OpenAI (USA), which generates the answers, together with an identifier that is a hash of your IP address and changes every day. OpenAI does not use them to train its models and may keep them for up to 30 days to detect abuse. Kolshi does not store the content of your chats: the conversation stays in your browser’s session storage until you start a new chat or close the tab. To enforce daily limits, we keep only salted hashes of your IP address and of a random browser identifier, which change every day, for at most 7 days.
Cookies
Kolshi sets one cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, to remember the language you chose. When you use the AI assistant, a second cookie, kolshi_chat, holds a random identifier that is used only to enforce the assistant’s daily limits; it is sent only with your messages to the assistant and expires at midnight Qatar time. If you switch search results between list and grid, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Data in listings
Listings on Kolshi come from other websites. We store only facts about the item, such as the title, price, category and area, and the web addresses of its photos. We remove phone numbers, email addresses and names. We don’t copy or store the photos themselves, and we link to the original listing for everything else.
Listing photos
Listing photos are loaded by your browser directly from the image servers of the site each listing comes from, such as QatarSale, Saakin, QIC Car Market or QMotor. Like any website, those servers receive your IP address and browser type. Kolshi tells your browser not to send them the address of the page you are viewing.
Sharing and hosting
We don’t sell personal data. We use service providers to host the website and the database, and OpenAI to answer the AI assistant’s messages. Their servers may be located outside Qatar; they process data only on our instructions and with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep data
Technical logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted. Listings are removed from Kolshi when they disappear from the original site, or sooner when we receive a valid removal request.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing. We answer such requests within 30 days.
